Making a Local Impact for Those Affected by Breast Cancer
Legacy Race is a Southern Colorado breast cancer nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by breast cancer in our local community while helping advance breast cancer research in Colorado.

Since Legacy Race began in 2024, our community has helped raise more than $210,000. Through our grant program, those funds support local organizations providing breast cancer patients and survivors with meals, grocery assistance, post-surgical garments, wellness programs, education, survivor retreats and other essential resources.
​
Legacy Race also invests in innovative breast cancer research in Colorado, helping support work that could improve treatment and outcomes for future patients.
Our mission is simple: turn every step, donation and partnership into meaningful impact for people affected by breast cancer.
2025 & 2026 Grantee
Project Angel Heart
Providing nutritious meals for breast cancer patients and their families during treatment.
Legacy Race's 2025 grant helped provide more than 3,000 nutritious meals to breast cancer patients and their families, helping ease one everyday burden during treatment.

Our 2026 grant continues this support, helping Project Angel Heart provide nourishing meals to more people when they need them most.

Sisters Hope
Helping breast cancer survivors navigate life after treatment through connection, education and wellness.​
The 2025 Legacy Race grant funded two retreats for women who had recently completed breast cancer treatment. Retreat programming included yoga, journaling, art as therapy, nutrition, sexuality and opportunities for self-reflection as participants navigated their “new normal.”

Our 2026 grant continues to support these restorative experiences for breast cancer survivors.

UCHealth
Providing practical resources that improve comfort and quality of life throughout breast cancer treatment.​
Our 2025 grant helped provide grocery assistance and lymphedema garments to breast cancer patients.
​
In 2026, Legacy Race funding will provide post-surgical garments, meal support, appointment binders and radiation garments to help patients navigate treatment and recovery.

Supporting the everyday needs of breast cancer patients while expanding access to education.​
The 2025 Legacy Race grant helped provide post-surgical garments to support healing and comfort as well as grocery assistance for breast cancer patients.
​
Our 2026 grant will provide additional grocery assistance and help fund an educational event for breast cancer patients and healthcare providers.

Peak Vista
Expanding breast cancer awareness, screening education and early detection efforts throughout Southern Colorado.​
With support from Legacy Race in 2025, Peak Vista provided breast cancer education materials in English and Spanish to more than 4,300 patients and partnered with community providers and local media to host a public breast cancer awareness event.

The 2026 grant will help fund Peak Vista's second breast cancer awareness event, continuing to connect our community with important information about screening and early detection.

YMCA
Helping breast cancer survivors rebuild strength and improve their quality of life after treatment.​
The 2026 Legacy Race grant supports the YMCA's LIVESTRONG program, giving breast cancer survivors who have completed treatment access to a free, 12-week program designed to help participants regain strength, improve physical fitness and enhance their overall well-being.

Image Reborn
Creating restorative spaces where breast cancer survivors can connect, recharge and heal.
Our 2026 grant supports no-cost, two-day retreats for breast cancer survivors in Colorado focused on building emotional resilience, reducing stress and creating meaningful community.
Image Reborn will offer three retreats in Dillon and one in Breckenridge specifically for deaf women, expanding access to meaningful survivorship support.
